I didn’t just randomly earn £376 on Prolific. There was a specific reason why my earnings increased so quickly.
From Friday evening to Tuesday afternoon, I made £376.93, with £7.70 still pending. Most of this came from higher-paying AI studies, but the key thing is that I had actually been missing these for a while without realising it.
The Screen Size Issue I Didn’t Notice
For some time, whenever I tried to take part in these studies, I kept seeing messages saying that my screen size was not large enough.
My daughter spotted the issue after noticing that our laptop screens were set to the recommended 125 percent display size. Because of this, I wasn’t able to access many of the higher-paying AI tasks and assumed I needed a larger screen to complete them.
Once we reduced the display setting to 100 percent, the studies started appearing properly and I was able to take part.
Looking back, I had likely missed quite a few opportunities because of this.

Prolific is a platform where researchers and companies pay people to take part in studies. These are often surveys, but can also include more detailed tasks.
Compared to many survey sites, the studies tend to pay better and are more structured.

What Are AI Studies on Prolific?
AI studies often involve tasks such as comparing videos or audio clips, spotting which ones look more natural, and giving feedback. In my case, many of the studies involved reviewing content and deciding whether it seemed human or AI-generated. These were usually around 15 minutes long and paid $5 per study.
They usually require more attention and time, which is why they pay more. However, they are not always available.
The Reality of Prolific Earnings
This level of earning is not typical every week.
Some days there are very few studies, while other times there may be more available. It can vary depending on demand and your profile.
The screen size issue also shows how small technical details can affect what you can do on the platform.
Is Prolific Worth It in the UK?
From my experience, it can be a good way to earn extra money from home, especially compared to other survey sites. However, it is not a guaranteed or consistent income. It works best as something you use alongside other income streams.
In my case, fixing a simple setting made a big difference. It allowed me to access higher-paying AI studies that I had been missing.
