Rush rush, get going. If you live in a city that’s your mood for a lot of the time. You have a lot of things going for you as everything you want is so near.

You have access to public transport and can be on the other side of a city that inhabits millions of people, in just a few minutes. You have brilliant restaurants all around you. What’s not to like?

Well, the view for one. The ability to breathe fresh air. Being able to walk in a straight line without bumping into someone. Having privacy to yourself at the drop of a hat. Taking a nice walk where it’s just you and nature.

These are just a few things that you miss out on when you consider the things you can do as compared to the things you don’t have. How we live is just as important as where we live.

Although you are perhaps more likely to run into problems living in big cities, there are ways you can live happily. If you are in a place that you love, but you don’t live how you want then the positives can eventually be outweighed by the negatives.

We need visual stimulation

What would you prefer, a room with a window or without windows? More than likely you’ll choose to have the window. But have you ever questioned why this is?

We as human beings need some kind of visual stimulation wherever we live. We need to be able to look out of our four walls and see that the world is just close by. If you live in a city, this kind of thing is very hit and miss. It’s common for those that living in apartment blocks to draw back their curtains and just see a brick wall or another block of apartments.

However, luxury apartments that are in new high rise buildings offer some of the best visual stimulation you can hope for. These apartments for sale are prime examples as they are located near coasts where you have a view of the ocean waves coming ashore. You also have different waterfront views where trees and wildlife are also present.

The ability to adapt

An interior that isn’t able to adapt to changing temperatures and light levels makes us feel not very attached to our living space. If a home is constantly cold and doesn’t have the means to keep a stable temperature then we will always be frustrated underneath the surface.

Subconsciously we’re not very happy because our home doesn’t have the ability to adapt to when it’s cold or when it’s very hot. Materials can help us however, which means instead of buying a leather sofa, how about a full cotton sofa instead? You keep warmth in your decor much easier this way. If it’s really hot, consider fitting air conditioning if your home doesn’t have so already.

How we live affects our mood every single day. It isn’t just the location that matters but what kind of visual stimulation it offers too. High rise buildings are inherently going to offer you amazing views of your location which can uplift your mood subconsciously.

This is a collaborative post.
