Take a look at Silicon Valley for example. They have various quirky perks that include slides and even nap areas. Sure, you may not be able to offer something like this but it is more than possible for you to offer incentives that are just as similar.

Nearly half of employees actually want flexible working hours and they also want to be able to spend more time with family when they feel a though it is needed. If you are able to offer perks like this and if you are able to offer very good communication throughout then this is a great way for you to really stay on top of everything and it is also a good way for you to appeal to new employees.

Think about offering extra holiday time and even staff discounts. You can even work with your employees to find out what they want as well, and this is great when you are hiring new people. Now you may be thinking what all of this has to do with hiring someone new, and the answer is very simple. When you hire a new employee, you want them to feel as though they have made the right decision by choosing your company. You also don’t want to lose out on an employee to a competitor either, but perks can be an excellent way for you to prevent all of this.

 

Independent Contractors

Think about it, do you need a new employee or do you need an independent contractor? Finding someone who can fit your needs may mean not hiring one altogether. If you want to find out if you need an employee or an independent contractor then you need to try and work with your lawyer to find out if they can give you any support. If they are just taking the job because they need the money then they may not be a good fit for your company. Intention interviews are a fantastic way for you to avoid all of this stress and they can give you the chance to find out whether or not someone is genuinely interested.

 

Structure your Interviews

When you host an interview, you have to make sure that it is structured. If you don’t then this could cause you major issues in the future. Your potential employees won’t know whether they are coming or going and you will have no idea how or when you are supposed to make your decision.

A lot of companies host their interviews in tiers, so if you like an employee then progress them to the second stage of the interview. You may have three stages in total, with the last stage narrowing down the list to two or even three potential candidates. You have to take note however that the more interviews you have, the better you will get to know your employees but also the more frustrated they will become at having to come out to your location.

A good rule of thumb is to never have more than three stages for the interview process because this is going to take up your time and theirs, and you may even find that it puts your company in a bad light.
