Having a blocked ear isn’t very pleasant, not long ago I woke up at 4 am in the morning and was unable to hear properly out of my right ear, so I lay there until the alarm went off trying to pop my ears and stressing about having to go to work not being able to hear clearly.

How Do You Clear A Blocked Ear?

I started googling things on how to unblock ears and came across an ear wax removal syringe* with good reviews so thought I’d take a chance of sorting it out myself and quickly ordered it from Amazon. Luckily I have Prime and it would be delivered in the evening* check it out below.

What’s It Like Having A Blocked Ear?

Having a blocked ear is very uncomfortable and highly annoying. Your ear feels like it is full of cotton wool. The last time I had this problem it affected both ears, which was even worse.

I’d got water in my ears in a swimming pool whilst on holiday in Tunisia. I ended up having to go to the doctor and have my ears syringed. Afterwards, I couldn’t believe how well I could hear, even the creaking of my sandals as I walked!

Back to my current story…

After work, I decided to pop into the chemist to see if they could suggest anything to help. The guy seemed to think it was a build-up of wax and recommended Otex Ear Dropswhich work by dissolving ear wax.

I put some in my ear when I got home and let it do its work for a while. After an hour or so I knew it was working as I could pull my earlobe and it would pop and clear. The syringe I’d ordered that morning would be ideal at finishing off the job by totally cleaning my ear removing the dissolved wax.

I was happy to receive the syringe later that evening, and, off I went to the bathroom and followed the instructions. I must admit I was a bit nervous about doing it, but, needn’t have worried because it cleared my ear out perfectly. I even did the other one for good measure.

How Does The Syringe Work?

In the pack, you get a syringe with a nozzle and 10 saline rinse sachets. You use one mixed in 80z of cool boiled water.

Fill the syringe with the solution and push out any air, then it’s ready to use. You have to be in a sitting position to use with head tilted slightly forward. I managed to do it leaning slightly over the sink.

It managed to clear out the remaining broken down ear wax leaving me with my full hearing back. What a relief!

Take a look at some of the reviews on Amazon* and the amount of ear wax this handy syringe has removed.
