What is Aromatherapy?

What is Aromatherapy and its amazing benefits? Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years, it is a form of alternative medicine that is said to enhance physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Natural oils are extracted from flowers, leaves, roots, bark, stems or other parts of a plant.

What is Aromatherapy and its Amazing Benefits?

Essential oil is used as a form of alternative medicine to promote the health of your body, mind and spirit and enhance psychological and physical well-being.

The molecules in essential oils are tiny, aromatic and are readily absorbed into the skin. When an essential oil is inhaled these particles enter the lungs.

The therapeutic particles enter into the bloodstream and are carried around the body where they can deliver their healing powers and are said to treat the body as a whole.

How Does Inhaling Essential Oils Work?

When someone inhales an essential oil the scent is carried by olfactory nerve cells in the nose to the olfactory system which sends the aroma to the brain, called the limbic system. This is the area of the brain that houses emotions and emotional behaviour.

By breathing in essential oils they can change your mood and your health. The molecules inhaled change us psychologically and physiologically.

An example of this is sprinkling a few drops of lavender oil on a pillow when you can’t sleep. The aroma is relaxing and the oil helps to promote sleep.

Applying Essential Oils To The Skin

Essential oils have high antioxidant properties and have an effect of neutralising free radicals. Free radicals are the toxic byproducts of oxygen metabolism causing damage to living cells and tissues which is called oxidative stress.

Applying essential oils to the skin may help prevent the damaging effects caused then environment such as sunlight, pollution and smoke as they have a very high level of antioxidant activity.

How Does Aromatherapy Boost Your Mood?

Essential oils invoke good feelings of wellness and vitality through a process called entrainment and boost your mood naturally.

The vibration frequency of essential oils is the highest of any natural substance known to man. Through entrainment, the oils higher frequency will raise the vibratory quality of the individual using the essential oil.

The Healing Effects And The Subtle Energy Of Essential Oils

The human body’s natural healthy state vibrates between 62 and 70 MHz. When the human frequency range drops below normal of 62 MHz this is when illnesses can begin to develop. Good health has a frequency of 70MHz.

The normal harmonious frequencies of the body can easily go out of tune when a person experiences physical or emotional stress and using essential oils can help raise these frequencies.
