If you’ve ever tried to sell on Vinted as a small business, you’ll know it hasn’t always been straightforward. For a long time, regular Vinted accounts were strictly for personal use. Business sellers weren’t allowed, and if you were seen to be selling in high volume or listing lots of similar items, you risked having your account suspended or removed. I wrote a post about that – you can read it here.
However, that has now changed with the introduction of Vinted Pro.
When Did Vinted Pro Launch?
Vinted Pro began rolling out in the UK and a few other countries in 2024, following its trial in France earlier. It’s designed specifically for registered businesses, making it easier for professional sellers to operate on the platform without worrying about breaking the rules.
It’s still not available in every country, and it might not show up as an option for everyone yet – Vinted is gradually rolling it out. But if you run a small business selling second-hand or vintage items, it’s worth keeping an eye on.
What Is Vinted Pro?
Vinted Pro is a separate account type for business sellers. It lets you:
- Sell legally as a registered business (you’ll need to provide proof).
- Add proper invoices for your buyers.
- Be more transparent with your returns and customer policies.
- Have peace of mind knowing you’re not violating Vinted’s terms by selling in volume.
To sign up, you’ll need to register with your business details – such as your company name and VAT number (if applicable).
Switching to Vinted Pro
You can convert your existing Vinted account into a Pro seller account—no need to start afresh. I did exactly that. To change over, Vinted requires:
- No active orders and a zero Vinted balance, both of which need clearing first
- Confirmation that you’re a legitimate business: sole trader, non-profit or company, registered in the UK (e.g. with a UTR or National Insurance number)
Once approved, your account gets a “Pro” badge and you unlock unlimited listings, professional buyer features, invoices, and must comply with 14‑day returns and transparent policies.
What’s the Difference Between Vinted and Vinted Pro?
The main difference is who can sell and how.
- Regular Vinted accounts are for personal use only – think of someone clearing out their wardrobe or passing on second-hand bits they no longer need. You’re not supposed to sell new stock, wholesale items, or anything that looks like it’s part of a business operation.
- Vinted Pro accounts, on the other hand, are made for proper business use. You can list as much stock as you like, and your shop will look more professional with legal business details and buyer protection in place.
So if you’re running a vintage shop, reselling items, or have any sort of business setup, Vinted Pro gives you a way to do that openly and within the rules.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve been avoiding Vinted because you didn’t want to get into trouble for selling as a business, Vinted Pro might be the answer. Just be aware it’s still being rolled out, so it might not be available to everyone yet.
And if you’re unsure about what’s allowed on a regular Vinted account, don’t forget to check out my earlier post on why you can’t operate as a business on Vinted – it’s still important to know the difference.
Let me know if you’ve tried Vinted Pro or if you’re planning to. I’ll be keeping an eye on how it develops.
