At the time of writing this post, some countries are already in lockdown. In the UK we aren’t at that stage yet but we are being told to self-isolate if we present any coronavirus symptoms.

What to Do at Home During the Coronavirus Outbreak

So, what do we do when we have to stay at home? Here are a few ideas that may help you survive lockdown if you’re stuck at home, in self-isolation or just want to prepare.

Order Food Online

If your supermarket delivers, start having your shopping sent to your home, the more people panic buying and fighting over toilet rolls in the supermarket gives the virus more chance of spreading.

Sign up for delivery saver it will save you lots of money. We may all become reliant on delivery services in the coming future.

Don’t Panic Buy

Panic buying hand sanitiser so nobody else gets a chance is just selfish. What good are hundreds of bottles of hand sanitiser to you when you may have to stay at home anyway? You only need soap and water in the home.

Ordering just what you need will allow everyone to have a steady supply of food in the coming months.

If You’re at Home and are Well

Do your garden

If you’re fit and well, gardening can be very therapeutic and if you end up having to be at home it’s the perfect time to tend to your garden.

If your garden is just a lawn, why not create a border? If you have no idea about plants consider Garden On a Roll, it’s all laid out for you and the plants will be delivered to your door. Waitrose also provides ready-made borders.

Dig up all the weeds, keep the lawn mowed weekly. Order some seeds online and grow your own vegetables in pots.

There is always something to do.

Spring Clean and Redecorate

Now’s the time to do the painting that you’ve been putting off. Freshen up your walls, paint interior doors.

Spring clean your home, wipe areas that often get neglected like handles to cupboards and doors, clean the windows.

Give your cooker a good clean.

Cooking

Start baking some cakes, this will keep the kids entertained too. Cook meals from scratch and freeze portions to reduce food waste. A bolognese can be bulked up with veg and red split lentils.

There’s a big shortage of pasta due to panic buying, but, we’ve managed to buy noodles and often make Pork Fried Noodles.

The recipe for this is on page 152 from a book called Cooking on a Budget which contains some delicious recipes for anyone on a tight budget.

Play With Your Dog

If you can’t go out your dog will still need exercising, so playing ball in the garden or even tug of war in the living room if you don’t have a garden will help keep your dog occupied.

Hide some treats around the house and let your dog sniff them out. Fill a bone or kong toy with cheese or peanut butter. This will keep your dog from getting bored.

If You’re at Home and Ill

Rest as Much as Possible

It’s important to rest and not do any physical activity, this will help the body fight off any virus.

Watch DVDs

To keep yourself occupied when ill, watching DVDs will combat boredom. Get that box set out that you haven’t watched for a while.

If you need more films to watch, buy them second hand on Amazon and have them delivered. Most will fit through the letterbox without the need for opening the door.

Read Books

Get engrossed in a good book, re-read old books that have been sat on the bookshelf for years. Order some more, there are plenty of second-hand ones available on Amazon.

Start a Website

Working online could become something we do a lot more of in the future.

Use this time to set up your own blog or an e-commerce site so that you can earn extra money at home.

This may be something you’ve been thinking about doing for a while, so why not start now?

You don’t need to hold the stock if you don’t want to. Creating something like a website will certainly take your mind off the illness.

I have a special offer of a 28-day free trial with EKM to help you get an e-commerce site up and running.

Learn Something New

Learn something new by taking an online course. Udemy has hundreds of courses to choose from and the prices are very low. I go there when I want to learn something.

Listen to Frequences

Some people may scoff at the idea of listening to this music and I am in no way suggesting this is a cure for your infection. These frequencies will help you relax though.

Did you know that the human body’s natural healthy state vibrates between 62 and 70 MHz?

When the human frequency range drops below normal of 62 MHz this is when illnesses can begin to develop. Good health has a frequency of 70MHz.

Listening to 528 Hz is said to promote healing and repair DNA, brings calm and positively energises the cells in our body.

I play the 528 Hz music below based on Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies by Meditative Mind every night on my iPad since finding that I slept much better With it playing in the background. It also has helped with the tinnitus hum in my ears.

According to Meditative Mind, different frequencies have various positive effects on the body and can help you achieve a greater sense of awakening and deep healing.

Try listening to these tracks of varying frequencies on their website. The tracks can also be found on Youtube.

These tracks will at the very least relax you and assist with sleeping which is needed to help you get well.

Aromatherapy

Using essential oils is by no means a cure for the Coronavirus, however, using them does lift the spirits. Use them as a way to relax and ease symptoms.

Essential oils vibrate at a high frequency and have high antioxidant properties.

Essential oils have been used for 1000s of years to promote good health. The oil’s higher frequency will raise the vibratory quality of the individual using it and a person’s health is determined by its frequency levels.

Using a diffuser allows the essential oil molecules to enter the airways to deliver their benefits. Oils such as Tea tree, bergamot and Eucalyptus are said to be beneficial.

If you don’t have a diffuser try adding a few drops of essential oil diluted in a carrier oil to your bath water and relax.

Always use therapeutic-grade essential oils.

I hope these tips have helped somewhat, check out this great advice if you’re feeling lonely and if you are at home ill, I wish you a swift recovery.
