5 Things To Do When You’re In Need Of Some Extra Cash

There may be many reasons why you are in need of some extra cash. For example:

– Your paycheck may have run low, and you need help with household bills, etc.

– You need the money to deal with an unexpected emergency.

– There is something you want/need, but you don’t have the money to buy it.

– A night on the town, a shopping splurge, a holiday away – the extra cash will help.

Whatever the reason, there are things you can do to grab yourself a little extra moolah each month, above and beyond your regular income. Interested? Of course, you are, so consider the following ways to increase your spending power.

  1. Take out a loan/credit card

If you’re struggling with debt, this isn’t advisable, unless you are considering something to consolidate your other debts. However, if you know you will have the means to make the monthly payments, but are in need of extra money – perhaps you want to take a holiday or make home improvements – taking out a low-interest credit card or joint loans (if you are in a couple), may be just the thing to help you out. We advocate wisdom – you don’t want to get into a financial pickle – so ensure you shop around for a good deal if going with this option

  1. Set up a side-hustle

If your regular job isn’t giving you the money you need for your needs/desires, then consider running a side business. This is something you do in your spare time and is a viable way to increase your earnings. You might want to sell things you have made online, use your home as an Airbnb, pet sit for others, or offer your skills and talents online and off. There are loads of things you can do, and a quick Google search will give you a wealth of ideas.

  1. Enter competitions

Okay, so there is no guarantee you will actually win a competition, but there are people – they call themselves compers – who have made thousands of pounds by taking part in all kinds of competitions. Many of them are free to enter too, so head online and try your hand. Admittedly, many of them offer physical prizes rather than a cash alternative, but you could always sell what you win and use the money you get back on something you actually wanted.

  1. Sell your stuff

Not only is this a perfect way to declutter your home, but it’s a great way to make back money on anything you no longer need. Search through your belongings, look for what could be of value, and sell them online, or book yourself onto a local car boot sale. Be mindful, however. You may have items that are of antique and collectors value, so ensure you value your items before sticking on a price tag that undermines the true worth.

  1. Use your car

Whether you love driving or not, you have to admit one thing: running a car is darn expensive. However, there are ways you can make money with your car, from plastering it with advertising decals to renting it out to others. Finally, your beloved motor will become a money-making machine, rather than the money-drainer it was fast becoming.

So, those were our ideas, but you may have some tips of your own. Be sure to share them with us; giving us all the means to boost our monthly income. Take care, and thanks for reading.
