I recently received an email from a blogger about Freecash, a platform claiming you can make extra money by playing games, testing apps, and taking surveys. While some people seem to have success with it, I think it’s important to share a more realistic view of what to expect.
If you’re looking for a way to earn some extra cash in your free time, you might be curious about how platforms like Freecash work. Here’s a breakdown of my experience and what you can expect from using this site.
It’s Not as Easy as It Sounds
The email I received highlighted that some users make over $2,000 a month, with stories of earning over $300 weekly just by playing games. That sounds great, but the reality is it’s not as effortless as it’s made out to be.
To earn anything significant on Freecash, you’ll need to invest a lot of time. You might see smaller rewards for things like playing games for a few minutes, but if you’re aiming for larger payouts, you’ll need to spend hours reaching higher levels or completing tasks. Many of the high-earning opportunities involve in-app purchases—this is something the email I received failed to mention.
So, yes, you can earn without spending money, but it will take longer.
Surveys and Privacy Concerns
I’ve noticed that, like many other survey sites, Freecash asks for personal details such as your date of birth and postcode when completing surveys. I’m not a huge fan of sharing this information, as it feels unnecessary for something that’s just meant to be a quick way to earn cash. However, if you use platforms like Prolific, the researchers aren’t allowed to request such personal information, which may be worth considering if privacy concerns you.
My Earnings So Far
On day 2 of using Freecash, my earnings reached £6.96, with my daughter and me playing three games through the platform. I’m not planning to spend money on in-app purchases to boost earnings as we continue playing. I’ll note our further earnings below:
- Day 4: £7.24
- Day 5: £9.53
- Day 6: £9.81
- Day 8: £10.13
- Day 10 £18.59
I deleted some games on day 6 because there was no way to reach the level needed to earn good cash rewards without paying to advance in the game faster.
We’re nowhere near the $300 per week mark yet!
Who Is Freecash Good For?
If you enjoy gaming and are happy to spend a lot of time online, Freecash might be a decent way to earn some extra money. But if you’re looking for quick cash, this platform isn’t going to get you rich fast. It’s more suited for those who like gaming and don’t mind playing for long periods.

Manage Your Expectations
In my opinion, Freecash is a slow and steady earner, with the potential for bigger payouts only if you’re willing to put in the hours or pay for in-app boosts.
Remember that without in-app purchases, you may struggle to reach higher targets, meaning you could earn only pence per day.
Be careful to track what you spend on boosts, and remember to deduct these costs from your winnings to find your true earnings. If you’re okay with that, then give it a go! Just keep in mind that this is not a “get rich quick” platform.
