How To Make Money With Audible as an Affiliate

    What is Audible?

Audible is a service that sells and produces audiobooks and is part of Amazon. Customers have access to the world’s largest selection of audiobooks, podcasts and exclusive originals. This post will cover how to make money with Audible as an affiliate.

A girl listening to an audiobook

    Become an Audible Affiliate

You can make money with Audible by becoming an Amazon Associate and sharing your affiliate link.

For each person who signs up for a membership or takes a trial, you’ll receive a bounty which is currently £5 when a customer takes a trial and £8 when a customer takes a membership.

Becoming an Amazon associate, allows you to promote all their products and not just Audible products!

    How To Promote Audiobooks

You can promote audiobook affiliate links on social media and if you have a blog, you can insert the links into your blog posts.

UPDATE 14/11/23: Amazon is removing banners and SiteStripe images, however, you can still use text links.

    Text Links

Easily generate text links. For example, let’s say I wanted to promote this Harry Potter Audible book. Look where I have highlighted on Site Stripe in yellow on the image below, you will see that ‘Text‘ can be selected.

    Harry Potter audible book.

Clicking on this will generate a link that you can share or add to blog posts. You have the option of using a full link or a shortened one. If you have more than one tracking ID, make sure you have the one you want selected.

Tip: If you want to know how to insert affiliate links and disclose them correctly, I recommend reading my Affiliate Marketing e-book. You must disclose affiliate links within a blog post and on social media correctly.

The great thing about being an Amazon Associate is that even if your customer goes off and buys something different from their website, you’ll still get paid a commission!

Using Amazon Images Correctly In Your Blog Posts

Please note that you are not allowed to download images and host them on your blog or website, and the ‘site stripe’ images are no longer provided. Affiliates now only have the option of using text links.

There is another way to add images and that’s by using API. I use a plugin that imports Amazon products automatically into the shop on one of my WordPress blogs. Please read about it here.

If you’re new to Amazon, you will need to start off using Site Stipe first adding text links to your posts and generating sales before you can use API.

I’ve been an Amazon Associate for many years now and if you’re thinking of becoming one to promote Audible books or even all their products, I recommend that you start a blog if you haven’t got one already and promote the products within the content, then share to social media.

Good luck with your Affiliate marketing journey!

  • Scaling Up a Home Business

    Scaling Up a Home Business

The pandemic disrupted economic activity throughout the country and forced around 30 percent of small businesses to close their doors. For many people, this meant losing their jobs and struggling to meet ends. However, some entrepreneurs saw this as an opportunity to start their businesses.

    A spacious home office

Around 17 percent of online micro-businesses in the United States started during the pandemic. Despite starting small, these businesses also plan to scale up and grow their market share.

Scaling a home business prepares it to handle increased demand from customers or clients. It can also mean expanding the company’s physical space, hiring new employees, or increasing production. It can be daunting, but proper planning and execution allow home businesses to grow. Here are several tips for making that happen.

    Have a plan

Like starting a business, you need a business plan to scale a home business. The plan allows business owners to plan their operations, organization structure, and operating systems. It also provides a roadmap to success and can help identify potential risks.

Planning is the foundation of any business, so it’s essential to get it right when scaling up. A solid plan will help you decide which markets to enter, what products or services to offer, and how to allocate resources.

    Stay organised

You should stay organised when scaling your home business as a business owner. This includes everything from maintaining a well-organised workspace to knowing where vital documents are stored. You should also have systems and processes to quickly and easily find your needed information.

There are several ways to stay organized when scaling your home business. First, you should create a system for storing important documents. This can be either physical or digital, but it should be easily accessible and organized in a way that makes sense to you.

Second, you should maintain a tidy workspace. This will help you stay focused and productive and make it easier to find what you need when you need it.

Finally, you should create systems and processes for tracking tasks, deadlines, and other important information. This will help you stay on top of your work and avoid missing important deadlines.

You should also organize your inventory to reduce losses and optimize productivity if you plan to set up a warehouse on your property. This includes labelling everything, storing items in an easily accessible way, and keeping track of what you have in stock.

You should also consider using a V-groove caster wheel set on the carts you’ll use to move inventory around the warehouse. These wheels are durable and allow you to carry heavy loads around your storage area. Staying organized can save time and money while scaling your home business.

    Set achievable goals

Setting achievable goals is another aspect you should consider when scaling a home business. This will ensure that your employees stay motivated and engaged as they work towards a common goal. Additionally, setting goals can help to create a sense of ownership among employees and foster a sense of pride in their work. Lastly, remember to celebrate milestones to show your employees you are invested in their success.

When scaling up a home business, it is essential to set achievable goals. This will allow your employees to stay motivated throughout the process. Furthermore, setting goals can help develop a sense of pride and ownership among employees. Lastly, remember to celebrate milestones as they are achieved to show your employees that you are committed to their success.

    Stick to your budget

Businesses need to create a budget to maintain financial stability. This will help businesses track their expenses and follow a plan. Having a budget makes it easier to pay bills on time, build an emergency fund and save for long-term expenses such as buying a new car or property.

Creating a budget is not only crucial for businesses; it is also necessary for individuals. By tracking spending and adhering to a budget, individuals can improve their financial well-being in the short and long run.

If you’re thinking of scaling up your home business, here are a few tips to help you create and stick to a budget:

    • Know your business expenses. This includes fixed costs like rent or mortgage payments and variable expenses like inventory or marketing.
    • Have a clear idea of your goals. This will help you determine how much to save for long-term expenses, such as expanding your business or hiring new employees.
    • Make a realistic budget. Don’t try to save too much too quickly; set achievable financial goals that you can gradually work towards.
    • Track your progress. Regularly review your budget to see where you can cut costs or make adjustments.
    • Stay disciplined. It can be tempting to overspend when business is booming, but remember that a budget is there to help you stay on track financially.

Scaling up a home business can be challenging. But, by following a budget and staying disciplined, you can ensure that your business is on a solid footing for growth.

Following the tips in the article can help you scale your home business and allow you to increase your share of the market.

People often start home businesses from home with the goal of growing them into larger operations. Find out how they can achieve this goal.
  • Marketing Plans That Will Work

    Marketing Plans That Will Work

2020 Marketing Plans That Will Work

Marketing has always been a great way for any business to get their brand into the public eye and into the eye of people who are potentially going to turn into customers. But what are customers seeing when you’re marketing, and are they even seeing you at all?

Marketing can be so hard to get right because the budget is so hard to manage. Often it’s wasted on marketing techniques that aren’t going to make as much of a difference as some of them could.

It’s also important to remember that some marketing techniques you chose are just not going to work at that time because the market was crowded with other businesses marketing their own.

A prime example is the TV adverts. If your brand is not big enough and your advert is not the best, people are going to look away from your business and towards others.

So, we’re going to talk about some of the marketing methods that you need to use.

    SEO & An Optimized Website

If you’re an e-commerce business, in particular, you need to be able to focus on your rankings and how easily spotted you are within search engines.

If you do a search relevant to your business, yours will no doubt not turn up on the first page.

SEO uses methods such as link building to actively improve your search engine rankings for keywords. Customers are either going to search directly for your business, which they’ll find it right away, or they’ll be searching for keywords and choosing the most trustworthy one, which is usually always the one on the first page.

Having your website optimized also allows you to track clicks and conversions, giving you data as to where your business is getting sales from. This will also allow you to change certain tactics if needs be.

    Great Trade Shows

Trade shows should become a staple of your business. There will no doubt be at least one trade event related to your niche that you could go for. But you need to be able to make a good impression. So many of these events are full of businesses all fighting for the attention of the same customers that you are.

So, you should look at trade show booth displays to get an idea of the type of display that you want. It all depends on the space that you have and what you want to put on show.

Putting something on show to entice people in is essential. Setting up some sort of game where the winner gets a good prize at the end of the day is also a great idea. It gets people over to your stand and interested in your business.

    Big Adverts

There are some big adverts that you can put out in so many different ways. One big and in-your-face way of marketing is billboard marketing, and I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go if your marketing budget is too small for TV adverts. Only big brands tend to have a lot of success from their TV adverts.

  • Why Shorter Content Pieces Might Be Better for Your Business

Why Shorter Content Pieces Might Be Better for Your Business

An increasing number of businesses are now publishing shorter content pieces instead of longer ones. This is because shorter pieces are more engaging and provide a better user experience. Additionally, they can be more efficiently edited and produced, saving you time and money.

Let’s look into why shorter content pieces might be better for Your business.

    TL;DR

The case for shorter content pieces

It’s no secret that content is king. What’s less clear, however, is the best way to create and deliver that content. In a world where attention spans are short and people are constantly inundated with information, it might be time to consider embracing short-form content.

Shorter pieces are not only easier to consume, but they’re also more digestible. This makes them perfect for capturing attention in a world where people are constantly bombarded with new information. I admit that if an article is too long, then I don’t read it all unless it really grabs my attention.

Additionally, shorter content is more likely to be shared on social media, helping you reach a wider audience.

Short-form content doesn’t have to be shallow or unoriginal. It can be just as informative and engaging as more extended pieces. The key is to focus on delivering the most critical information concisely and easily consumable.

Reasons why shorter content might be better for your business

    1. Shorter form content is often more effective for getting your point across. In a world of information overload, people are more likely to skim content than read it in-depth. You need to get your key points across quickly and succinctly.

    2. Short-form content can be more engaging and exciting to read. People are likelier to share short, snappy content on social media than long, drawn-out articles. Your business can reach a larger audience with shorter content pieces.

    3. Short-form content is also easier to produce than long-form content. You don’t need to spend as much time researching and writing a 500-word article as you do writing a 2,000-word article. This means you can publish more content in less time, which is excellent for SEO purposes.

    Conclusion

Shorter content pieces might be better for your business. They can be more effective at getting your point across and resonating with your audience. Plus, they are easier to produce and can help you save time. So if you’re looking to create more content, consider going shorter instead of longer.

Let's look into why shorter content pieces might be better for Your business.
  • 5 Must-Read Marketing Books

    5 Must-Read Marketing Books

Want to take your marketing game to the next level? Well, it might be time to open a good book. Because while it’s essential to stay up to date with the latest news, research, and cutting-edge ideas online, sometimes the best information is that which has stood the test of time. And these works have done just that. So, whether you’re a small business owner, marketer, or content creator, these 5 must-read marketing books will help you build leads.

A woman reading at a desk

    1. This Is Marketing by Seth Godwin

An entrepreneur, best-selling author, public speaker, and lecturer whose blog attracts thousands of users daily, there’s no doubt that Seth Godwin is one of the biggest names in the marketing world. Over the years, Godwin has released many must-have marketing books, but ‘This is Marketing’ is a brilliant culmination of his ideas and an excellent introduction to his work.

This is Marketing: You Can’t Be Seen Until You Learn To See.

In this book, Godwin discusses the death of interruption marketing, the rise of the digital age, and how to create more personalised content that fulfils the needs of your audience. It handles more with broad ideas than specific advice and might not be suitable if you’re just looking to tweak your copy. But, if you ever need some inspiration as to why you do what you do, this is a must-have

    2. 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing by Al Ries and Jack Trout

This one may be a relatively short read, but authors Al Ries and Jack Trout compile and condense a lifetime’s worth of experience and wisdom into this volume. Although this book is now decades old, much of the advice or “laws” contained within are still applicable today.

The 22 Immutable Laws Of Marketing.

Topics include managing customer perceptions, market characteristics, decision-making, and even dealing with failure. All of which have been broken down into memorable idioms.

    3. Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller

One of the most popular marketing and business books in recent years and an Amazon bestseller, there’s a good chance you may have already heard of Building a Story Brand. Now is an excellent time to jump on the hype train if not.

Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen.

In Building a Storybrand, Donald Miller shows readers how to implement powerful storytelling to make their brand’s message simpler and more effective. It also invites readers to look at branding and marketing techniques differently. It argues, for example, that it’s more effective to sell problems than products and that any good marketer should get out of their own way and let the customer be the hero.

    4. Everybody Writes by Ann Handley

Another book where the author invites us to see the world of marketing differently is Everybody Writes. In particular, Ann Handley helps the reader reimagine the digital content landscape as a place where all bloggers are publishers, all social media users are marketers, and everyone is a writer. The only problem is that not everyone takes their new job roles seriously.

Much of the book focuses on helping people improve their writing skills and introducing them to the ropes of content creation. As such, Everybody Writes is an exceptionally brilliant book for newer creators. But those with more experience will likely appreciate this volume as well.

    5. Platform: Get Noticed In A Noisy World by Michael Hyatt

The world of content creation is saturated, and getting your voice heard can sometimes seem almost impossible. Thankfully, this fantastic book by Michael Hyatt is a step-by-step guide to cutting through all the digital “noise” out there and reaching your target audience.

Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World.

Not only does this book guide you through content creation and social media optimization, but it also takes you behind the scenes of what successful entrepreneurs, celebrities, and creatives are doing to get ahead with the networking game. This book is a must if you want to extend your influence and build a career online.

Want to take your marketing game to the next level? Well, it might be time to open a good book.

How to Make Money Selling Printables

Selling Printables is one of the easiest ways to earn from home, create them once, and they can keep selling for months or even years. It’s a great way to build a semi-passive income from the comfort of your own home. Here are some practical tips to help you get started.

    Digital Art

    Equipment Needed to Create Printables

You’re going to need a computer and software such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator. I’m currently using Canva Pro, which is very affordable and has a lot more features than the free version. I’d recommend getting started with the free version and then upgrading to paid once you start getting sales.

You may eventually wish to create custom templates in which you’ll need the pro version so that you can send a link to your customer to be able to edit the template they purchased.

You will also need a printer so that you can test each printable before you put them up for sale.

Best Course to Learn How to Make Printables

The quickest way to start creating printables and getting your shop set up is by following the tutorials in the E-Printables Course.

This course, created by Cody and Julie shows you how to make Printables on both Canva and Adobe Illustrator.

To get you started quickly, there are 12 done-for-you templates provided that you can edit and make your own. Included in your purchase is a 30-day free trial in the VIP Membership that starts immediately after purchase.

If you decide to stay in this membership you’ll receive 5 new free commercial use templates each month along with lots of other benefits. Find out more about what’s included here.

How Much Money Can You Make Selling Printables?

This all depends on how much effort you’re willing to put into your printable business. You could make a few pounds to a few thousand per month, some people are making more than 5-figures selling digital downloads. The secret is to be consistent and grow your business gradually so you don’t burn out

This ebook will teach you how to capitalise on seasonal trends to make sales. It’s free for a limited time.

Is There a Market for Selling Printables?

Yes, there definitely is a market and there are many different types of printable products that you can create as you can see in the list below.

    Best Places to Sell Printables

I recommend selling on Etsy or Gumroad, both are ideal platforms for selling printables and have plenty of buyers looking for these types of products. If you have a blog, you could sell them from there using the Woocommerce plugin. Some people use Shopify; however, I find it quite expensive.

    Ideas for Printables

The list below will give you a few ideas of what you can create and sell, this list is not exhaustive:

    Art

    Banners, signs, and posters

    Binders

    Bookmarks

    Business cards

    Calendars

My go-to place is Creative Fabrica, I have the all-access subscription because I am constantly using the design elements for KDP books and printables. It works out much cheaper by paying one monthly fee, rather than paying for each design element separately.

  • Should Longtail Keywords Be Exact Match or Broad?

Should Longtail Keywords Be Exact Match or Broad?

There is much debate on whether longtail keywords should be treated as an exact match or a broad match for longtail keywords.

A broad match will allow more keywords to be included in an ad campaign, resulting in a higher click-through rate (CTR) and better search engine ranking.

On the other hand, an exact match will only include keywords mentioned explicitly in the ad text.

Should longtail keywords be an exact match or broad?

    Keywords

    What are longtail keywords?

Longtail keywords are more specific and less common than the more general ones. They tend to have lower search volume, but they also tend to have a higher conversion rate because they’re more precise.

In other words, people looking for information using longtail keywords are more likely to be interested in what you have to offer than those using shorter, more general keywords.

There are a few ways to find longtail keywords relevant to your business. One is to use keyword research tools like Google AdWords Keyword Planner, Keysearch or semrush.com to find related terms and phrases.

You can also use competitor analysis tools like spyfu.com or semrush.com to see what keywords your competitors are targeting that you may not be aware of.

How do you determine if a keyword is a longtail keyword?

There is no definitive answer to this question, as it depends on the individual’s interpretation. However, one way to determine if a keyword is a longtail is to consider how popular it is.

A longtail keyword will typically have less competition and be less commonly used than a more popular keyword.

Additionally, a longtail keyword will usually be more specific and target a smaller audience than a more general keyword.

What are the benefits of targeting longtail keywords?

The benefits of targeting longtail keywords are as follows:

    1. Longtail keywords have a lower competition level than head keywords, making it easier to rank higher on search engine results pages.
    2. Longtail keywords are more specific and relevant to users’ needs, which means they are more likely to result in conversions.
    3. Longtail keywords generate less traffic than head keywords, but their traffic is more qualified and, therefore, more likely to convert.
    4. By targeting longtail keywords, businesses can reach a larger audience with less effort.
    5. Longtail keyword research is easy and affordable, so businesses of all sizes can benefit from its benefits.

Should you target longtail keywords with an exact match or a broad match?

When it comes to search engine optimization (SEO), there are two main types of keyword matching: exact and broad. So which one should you use to target longtail keywords?

    Broad Matching

Broad matching is when you use keywords related to your target but are not an exact match. For example, if your target keyword is “running shoes,” a broad match would include keywords like “athletic shoes” and “running apparel.”

    Exact Matching

Exact matching is when you use keywords that are an exact match for what you’re targeting. So in the running shoe example, you would use the keyword “running shoes” and nothing else.

Which approach should you use for targeting longtail keywords? The answer depends on a few factors, including how competitive the keyword is and how much traffic you hope to generate from it.

    Bottom Line

Longtail keywords should be an exact match to get the most relevant traffic to your website.

However, if no exact match is available, using a broad match will also produce results.

By targeting the right longtail keywords, you can improve your website’s search engine ranking and increase your web traffic.

People can follow your Space to stay up-to-date on your latest content, and you can earn money from sponsored posts and products you recommend.

To create a space, click on the “Create Space” button at the top of the homepage. You’ll need to provide some basic information about your Space, including its name and tagline. Then, it’s time to start writing!

Your Space can be anything you want it to be – a blog about your favourite hobby, a guide to starting your own business, or even just a place to share interesting articles and videos.

Ad revenue sharing is an easy way to earn money while keeping your Space’s content free for all users. Participants will earn a portion of ad revenue generated from impressions on their content.
