The Law of Attraction is fake. In my opinion, it’s utter nonsense. Yes, I said it.Ā Over the past decade or so, the Law of Attraction has gained considerable traction. There have been books written about it,Ā documentaries like The Secret, and a lot of talk about how if you just ask the universe nicely for what you want, it will magically appear. Sounds enticing, doesn’t it? But let’s put it to the test.
The Reality Behind Manifestation
Imagine asking the universe to manifest Ā£100,000 into your bank account. Visualise it, say it out loud, and believe it. Still waiting? Yeah, me too.
The truth is, life doesn’t work like this, where you can place your order and wait for it to materialise. You have to take action and put in the work to get what you want from life.
Exploitation in Manifestation
So why am I raining on this parade? the Law of Attraction is doing more harm than good and people are profiting from it, especially on YouTube.
Initially, the Law of Attraction seemed like a positive movement, encouraging people to think positively and set ambitious goals. But somewhere along the line, it has morphed into a lucrative business for self-appointed gurus peddling falsehoods at exorbitant prices.
Social media hasn’t helped either. Suddenly, everyone has become an expert on manifestation, and if you aren’t manifesting your dreams, it is because you lack belief, not because you need to take action. Itās brainwashing, and cult-like, similar to MLMs.
Positive thinking is powerful, yes, but it’s not a substitute for hard work and determination.
Thereās nothing wrong with writing down your goals and reading positive quotes and affirmations to boost your confidence and spur you on, but if you think that by placing an order with the universe and sitting back and waiting for it to be delivered on a plate, youāre going to be seriously disappointed.
Think about it, if it really did work, then we would all be rich, living the lives of our dreamsā¦
So if you’re tired of waiting for the Law of Attraction to work its magic, itās time to roll up your sleeves, plan what you’re going to do and put in the work.
