Why I’m Glad I Didn’t Give Up On My Blog
I’ve created various blogs over the years, I’ve used free blogging platforms in the past and soon learned that nothing beats a self-hosted WordPress blog.
Why a self-hosted blog?
With a self-hosted blog, you are fully in control and you can do so much with it. Turn it into an e-commerce store if you want!
With all the beautiful themes available and plugins which enable you to have different functions and features on your blog. You can end up with a fabulous looking site for very little cost.
I own a couple of blogs now, this one covers various subjects that are of interest to me.
I’m happy to say that it now brings in a nice income from affiliate marketing and sponsored content which doubles my part-time job income and I work a fraction of the time.
Blogging is great and you can start blogging on the side fitting it around your existing job.
It wasn’t always this way for me. With previous blogs, I may have given up just a little too soon, or I chose a subject that just didn’t really interest me, therefore, found it hard to find inspiration on what to write. Always make sure that whatever you blog about interests you.
The higher the DA (which means Domain Authority) of your blog the better the opportunities and income potential. I’ve written a post about DA here.
I’ve worked hard on my current blog, increased my DA and started earning from it. I’ve recently bought a nice clean looking theme from Pipdig (They’re brill by the way!), all paid for from my income from blogging. I love their themes so much I bought another for my other site!
The great thing about blogging, especially with affiliate marketing is that you only write the post once and it has the potential to earn money in the future too. When someone clicks through one of your affiliate links and purchase, you will receive a commission.
Tips For Starting Out
I advise if you’re starting a blog, to join various Facebook groups and blogging networks for blogging information and opportunities, read other blogs on the internet and learn, learn, learn as much as you can. Take inspiration from others.
I find blogging a continuous learning journey. There is always something new. One bit of advice is to never give up because it will pay off in the end. That’s why I’m glad I didn’t give up on my blog.
