You’ve probably arrived on this site searching for advice on how to grow your eyebrows. Maybe you’ve become a bit too ambitious over the years with plucking and are left with thin sparse brows.
Are you one of those women who wishes she’d never started plucking or waxing?
If like me back in the late ’80s and ’90s it was the latest trend. The problem for a lot of women was that they didn’t grow back properly and they were left with patchy areas that needed pencilling in on a daily basis.
I’ve tried various products on the market without success until I came across an article on the web about a hair growth product called Minoxidil also known as Regaine or Rogaine in the US which is normally used for head hair regrowth.
I read that some women have had success with Minoxidil on the eyebrows. It comes in 2% and 5% strengths, the 5% is usually suggested for men. This is the strength advised for eyebrow regrowth.
I thought I’d give it a go because Minoxidil is reasonably priced. I paid about £10 for one 60 ml bottle and that is a lot cheaper than some of the other eyebrow growth treatments out there on the market. I thought if it didn’t work then I haven’t lost too much money. You can buy a pack of 6 which is even better value for money.
How To Apply
Apply twice daily using a clean cotton bud each time.
A word of warning though there can be side effects as the eye area is sensitive. I personally haven’t had any side effects, but, they may happen and can include burning, dryness, itchiness, redness and scaling. Applying once a day may help lessen this but if I’d advise not to use it if you do have a reaction. Do not apply this to the lashes!
I started using Minoxidil on 8th June 2018 and this is how my brows looked then:
As you can see the one on my left is patchy. Now let’s look at what they are like nearly 3 months on:
There has been a lot more growth and I’ve noticed finer hairs growing underneath that haven’t grown in that area for years.
They still have a way to go but I can see a lot of difference and will continue to use this product. Minoxidil has to be used continually for the effects to last. I’ve used half a 60 ml bottle of Kirkland Extra Strength Minoxidil in 3 months, so it does last a long time.
Will it work for you? I’m afraid I can’t answer that, you can only try. It may not work for everyone. These are my own results. Please don’t expect immediate results, it takes time to start working. During the growth process, you could tint your eyebrows to give them a fuller look.
Have you tried this or any other product? What kind of results did you get?
